Dr. Austin Robinson is the chiropractor at Physical Therapy and Chiropractic of Melissa, a multidisciplinary clinic in Melissa, Texas that also has 2 physical therapists and a massage therapist. When Austin joined the clinic in late October 2024, the chiropractic side was brand new, and the clinic was already using Prompt for PT.
Previously, Austin practiced in a wellness-based chiropractic setting using a different EHR. “Now I find that Prompt does a very good job in the active care space,” he said.
Now that he’s in more of an acute care space, Austin is able to easily set active plans of care for his patients. “It’s easy for them to see and understand, and easy for me as the practitioner to see and understand where we are along their plan,” he said.
One of the most immediate benefits Austin saw was Prompt’s impact on his documentation speed and quality. “It doesn’t bog you down with notes. On other EHRs I’ve had, it’s taken a while to finish notes, but with Prompt it’s very streamlined,” he said.
“Another thing that’s great about Prompt is that it auto-populates from the previous visits, and that makes it a lot easier to do that note.” Now, Austin said, he’s usually able to finish a note for a patient during their visit, rather than needing to complete them at the end of the day or at home.
Prompt’s automation and AI note-taking features don’t just allow him to finish his notes quicker–it’s actually helping improve his patients’ experience as well. “I just click that record button and it allows me to really just focus and listen to the patient. And I think [they] like it more too, because I’m really able to be there with them,” Austin said.
In their multidisciplinary clinic, Austin and his PT and massage counterparts see a lot of the same patients. Prompt allows them to seamlessly coordinate and keep track of patient progress. “It's very easy to see what they’re doing with the patient and they can see what I’m doing,” Austin said.
This cross-functional transparency extends to the massage therapy team as well, making Prompt a hub for collaborative care in their clinic.
Although Prompt makes it easy for the different disciplines to work together with one patient, that doesn’t mean that it’s a one-size-fits-all solution.
Austin is able to customize his templates within Prompt to suit chiropractic workflows, while the physical therapists and other clinicians can do the same for theirs.
“I can create my own templates that I need and upload them to Prompt that aren’t a part of what the physical therapists would use,” Austin said.
Prompt helps create a smoother experience, not just for clinicians at PT of Melissa, but for their patients as well.
“Our patients do use the kiosk, so they can come right up, self-check in, and then it shows us on the schedule that they’re there,” Austin said.
“So it’s quick to get them and bring them back. It’s been great, because sometimes we don’t have someone up at the desk, so just having the kiosk they can use has been pretty helpful.”
For Austin, Prompt has been a catalyst for streamlined documentation, real-time care planning, and team-wide coordination.
It’s allowed him to fully shift his practice style toward outcome-driven, rehab-focused chiropractic care—and has empowered his clinic to do it all in one unified system.
“ In a multidisciplinary setting, Prompt is the way to go,” he said. “It would help out a lot of other chiros–they’d benefit from using Prompt, too.”
